Work Pattern Creation
To create a New Work Pattern within DRS, perform the following:
- Click on the Home Drop Down Menu on the top left hand side of the screen.
- Click Work Patterns.
- This will present the following screen.
- To create a New Work Pattern, click Create New on the top right hand side of the screen.
- This will present the Details tab for a newly created Work Pattern.
Details Tab
The Details Tab for a Work Pattern will display, CRS requires the following fields to be completed.
- Work Pattern Name - Type the name of the Work Pattern.
- Location - Select a Location for this Work Pattern from the Drop-down menu of options.
- Specialty - Select the Specialty for this Work Pattern from the Drop-down menu of options.
- Contract Type - Select the Contract Type for this Work Pattern from the Drop-down menu of options (Contract Types are pre-set within CRS (see contract type guide)
- Grade - Select the Grade for this work pattern from the drop-down menu of options. Grades are pre-set within CRS and are associated to Contract Types.
- Leave Entitlement - The Leave entitlement for this Work Pattern is pre-set within CRS. You can update this figure (if required) by typing an alternative figure into the field.
- Notes - This is a free text field for notes relevant to this Work Pattern.
- Once completed, click Save on the top right hand side of the screen to move to the next tab within Work Pattern creation.
Screen will now indicate the work pattern is in Edit mode
Pattern Tab
- Click the Pattern Tab across the top of the screen
- This will present a pop up for the number of weeks to be added to the Work Pattern.
- Type or use the arrows within the field to add the number of weeks you require within this Work Pattern.
- Click Add.
- The Work Pattern creation screen will then display.
Adding Duties to a Work Pattern

- Click a Duty on the left hand side of the screen, this could be a Standard duty, a Stock duty or a Custom duty.
- The selected duty will be highlighted and appear darker in colour.
- Click each individual duty cell within the work pattern that you require to be updated
- Click Save to ensure all of the duty changes you've made have been captured.
Specific weeks or duties within the work pattern may become highlighted, this is due to compliance breeches within the work pattern being created. You can view the corresponding compliance Tab ( see associated Guide here -Compliance Tab) to analyse these breeches in full detail.
